  • Native level English speaker
  • One of the following qualification routes:
    • At least a 60-hour online TEFL (or equivalent)  plus a minimum of 3 months’ teaching experience or
    • CELTA Trinity Cert TESOL , or other equivalent, recognised initial teaching qualification
  • Comfortable teaching both children and adults
  • Reliable, professional, and willing to follow school guidelines and curricula

Job Description

Shane Corporation is seeking experienced and motivated English teachers to work part-time as English teacher at selected schools in the Kanto Region.  We have full-day shifts, especially at the weekends, and some evening shifts. Ideal for teachers who want stable shifts with a trusted company, teaching students of all ages in both private and small-group lessons.

Position Details

  • Job Title: Part-time Teacher of English
  • Location: Various Shane Schools in the Kanto Region, Japan. Average Travel times are 45-minutes (home station to school station).
  • Schedule: Full Day Saturdays, Full Day Sundays, plus other possibilities such as Full Day Weekdays or Weekday evenings
  • Lesson Types: Private and group lessons. You will be responsible for planning and executing all lessons without an assistant.
  • Students: All ages and levels (children, teens, and adults)

Job Description
You will teach communicative English lessons using Shane’s in-house curriculum and materials. Classes include conversation, grammar, and skills-based lessons tailored to student needs.

Typical duties include:

  • Teaching engaging lessons to students of varying ages and proficiency levels
  • Delivering both 1-to-1and  small group classes
  • Following established syllabi and using school-approved materials
  • Writing simple lesson records and progress notes when required
  • Working cooperatively with school staff to support students and maintain a professional atmosphere
